GOOD NEWS! The Greggs vegan range is now in stores!
Greggs fans and Veganuary give-it-a-go-ers rejoice!
It's the Dacia Sandero! Nah, just kidding, it's Greggs.
As the UK slides deeper into its latest lockdown its GOOD NEWS! As Iceland has started stocking the Greggs Vegan range in its stores.
The sausage rolls at this price point are considerably cheaper than in a Greggs store! The steak bake is also cheaper, but to a lesser extent.
Yes, on the first of January you could order their brilliant meat-free pairing from Iceland online, and then from the second, you could pick them up in-store! Both the sausage rolls and the steak bakes retail for £2.50 apiece. For that, you get either four sausage rolls or two bakes. Get them home, slap them on a baking tray for half an hour in the oven and you've got a meat-free Greggs in the comfort of your own home.
More good news!
And this isn't the only promising news for Greggs fans who are giving Veganuary a bash! There have been murmurs from the top that a vegan chicken bake is in the works. Greggs’ CEO Roger Whiteside said: “[Vegan] chicken is a way forward. I have seen some good products out there.” So keep your eyes peeled for that, and you can be sure that as soon as it drops I'll get a hold of it and you can find out what I think about it here on Foodtribe!
