Hallmark Channel is launching a wine range to pair... with TV Shows

When you think about it, this is genius

Hallmark, an American cable channel, has been producing wines for a while now. They've recently come up with a new wine range to go with their brand new wine subscription plan - 'Hallmark Channel Wines Club' - specifically designed to be paired with their TV Shows. It sounds odd but, when you think about it, it's a brilliant idea.

Danielle Mullin, SVP of brand marketing for Crown Media Family Networks (owned by Hallmark), said Hallmark Channel wines, "have been a huge hit among wine lovers and Hallmark Channel enthusiasts. The Wine Club gives us the opportunity to provide our members with a truly distinct membership experience that delivers on the Hallmark Channel lifestyle."

"By joining the Hallmark Channel Wine Club, members will receive exciting new wines created exclusively for the Club and enjoy some impressive member benefits including bonus bottle(s), shipping discounts and special offers, wine tastings with the winemakers, a free month of Hallmark Movies Now, and other unique benefits like Hallmark Channel DVDs, Hallmark Publishing eBooks and audiobooks, Hallmark Keepsake Ornaments, and more," added Mullin.

You can pick between three-, six-, or 12-bottle packages, which will be sent to you four times a year, priced at $48, $96, or $179, depending on your selection. The wines are produced in partnership with Wines That Rock - a Rock-N-Roll-themed wine company that routinely names its wines after world famous rock bands.

According to Wines That Rock and Hallmark Channel, each bottle is ready "paired with Hallmark Channel movie-viewing suggestions", and the wines will "be perfectly paired for each season".

The first wine collection, dubbed 'Autumn Dreams', will arrive in September and will include "a special Reserve Pinot Noir with notes of boysenberry pie and ripe cherries." After that, subscribers will receive "a Special Reserve Zinfandel with notes of blackberries and delicious plums" for the winter season ('Countdown to Christmas').
