Happy Birthday FoodTribe! #FTBIRTHDAY

Since Jane Fyffe started the Birthday challenge, I've had the ambition to prepare something truly special, yet simple to prepare for everyone. And inspiring! Even for the people who don't cook, but are curious about making an effort to surprise their loved ones someday.

For all the right reasons (in my mind) I wanted to spell the name of my favourite social network, and there are surprisingly many easier ways to do that. But I've chosen to challenge my patience, or rather the lack of it, with sausages. Widely available in different forms all around the world, even in vegan form, sausages represent the multinational diversity of our community.

And what better way to show how united we are, than to join those sausages in a FoodTribe sign?! Which turned out to be very challenging. My advice if you give it a go - have patience. And tooth picks! Lots and lots of tooth picks! And fill them with passion! Or in this case - Rösti mix. For a meal with a tricky name to pronounce correctly, it is surprisingly simple to prepare. Everybody likes potatoes, so it's a guaranteed hit and when baked between sausages - it creates a starter.

I don't think it's a good idea to repost 3/4 of the Rösti recipe, so just take a look at the link below, make the mix and use it to fill your sausage-made sign, logo or a symbol, instead of making cakes for frying. This includes spreading the eggs on top with a brush.

The end result is actually an improvised starter that I have been trying to perfect for months now. It's tasty, it goes great with some cherry tomatoes and pesto, which I don't currently have at home to make it prettier. The thing with it is to inspire the creative side of everyone - as simple as bending sausages might sound, it unlocks nearly unlimited possibilities for you and me to create something special and unique out of . . nothing, basically. This is what everyone in FoodTribe does and this is why FoodTribe holds a special place in my heart, along with every FoodTriber here!
