This is the perfect Halloween cake! The kids absolutely love making this cake each year and it's so so easy to make. I use my go to sponge recipe of: 115g vegan butter, 250g sugar, 400mls milk alternative, 1 tsp bicarbonate of soda, 400g self raising flour, 2 tsp vanilla extract. And in this cake batter I put orange food colouring.
I made butter icing for the layers and outside. And then made grey cotton candy to make the spider webs on top of the cake. Also in the middle of the cake I usually put some candy pieces or chocolates for the kids to grab. And not forgetting the vegan jelly worms! Aldi do the most amazing vegan jelly worms which come fizzy as well as normal! I have to say it's definitely a party centre piece everyone loves digging into.
