Have you ever tried a Hugo?

Hugo is essentially the cousin of Spritz'. It originated in South Tyrol, an autonomous region in northeast Italy where people speak German as a first language. It consists of prosecco, elderflower syrup, seltzer (you can use club soda, it's fine) and mint leaves.

  • These have been very popular in Mediterranean countries for a 4 or 5 years now. You will usually find it in restaurants that don't typically do cocktails as it is very easy to make and doesnt actually require any bar tending skills. Its not bad, good for the summer.

  • Yes, I did, In Germany many years ago. A relative made it for me, though I have to say, it looked absolutely nothing like this one...

  • I've heard about it. But I am not a fan of Spritz too, so I am not rushing to try it.
