Have you ever tried Argentinian pizza?
There is a place in Madrid that i love were they make my favourite Argentinian pizzas and empanadas.
Today i really wanted pizza for dinner, so i went to El Cambalache, a small Argentinian food takeaway in downtown Madrid.
There are mostly two kind of products: Argentinian pizza and empanadas. I got this:
A slice of provolone cheese and sundried tomato pizza and a four cheese empanada. And one of those Coca Colas that certain famous football player dislikes.
The Argentinian pizza is different from the Italian one. The Argentinian pizza is stuffed, with the cheese and the rest of ingredients between two layers of crust, with the upper crust decorated with cheese or some sauce.
Deliciously stuffed with mozzarella, provolone and spicy sundried tomato.
The ingredients on mine were quite simple: Mozzarella and provolone cheese and spicy sundried tomatoes. Absolutely delicious!
The empanada was also special. Stuffed with four cheeses (blue, provolone, mozzarella and parmesan) what make it really special is the toasted sugar layer in the crust. Absolutely mindblowing mix of sweet and salty!
The toasted sugar gives the four cheese empanada an unique touch
All in all, a delicious Argentinian dinner for me tonight. Delicious and filling. So filling that i had to get back home walking to burn all those calories! But it really worth it.
