Healthy Choice has recalled over 65 tons of chicken bowls
And you’ll never guess why...
More than 130,000 pounds of Healthy Choice chicken bowls are being recalled — because they just might have *rocks* in them. That’s right: rocks. That’s 65 tons of potentially-rock-containing chicken bowls, folks!
The US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service announced on Friday that the manufacturer, Conagra Brands, is recalling the Chicken Feta & Farro bowls due to concerns that they could "contain extraneous material, specifically small rocks”.
The USDA release stated: "There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products.” It added that Conagra was made aware of the problem after receiving customer complaints about rocks being found in the products.
The recalled bowls have a best by date of 10/19/2020 on the label, lot code 5006002320 and an establishment number "P115."
In a statement sent to USA TODAY, Conagra spokesman Dan Hare said a limited amount of the bowls was being "voluntarily recalled due to the potential presence of small rocks that likely remained from harvesting ingredients contained in the product."
