Are you sat at home wishing you had a McDonald's milkshake in one hand and a Big Mac in the other?

We've been without McDonald's milkshakes for far too long now thanks to an ongoing nationwide shortage.

However, this sneaky homemade recipe may well save us from a life without those deliciously thick Maccy D milkshakes.

While we don't have the recipe for a Big Mac, we do have one for the famous McDonald's milkshake โ€“ one of the best hangover cures for under a fiver.

It has been shared by Topsecret Recipes, and apparently the results are just as good as the real thing. It's really quick and easy to put together. If you like yours extra thick (and who doesn't?), you can always put it in the freezer for a bit.

Homemade McDonaldโ€™s milkshake recipe:

What do I need?

- 2 cups (300g) of vanilla ice cream

- 1 1/4 cups (295ml) of low-fat milk

- 3 tablespoons of granulated sugar

- 2 cups (300g) of vanilla ice cream

- 1 1/4 cups (295ml) of low-fat milk

- 2 tablespoons of chocolate Nesquik

- 2 cups of vanilla ice cream

- 1 1/4 cups (295ml) of low-fat milk

- 3 tablespoons of strawberry Nesquik

Serves 2:

1. Combine all the ingredients for your chosen flavour together and mix at a high speed in a blender until smooth. Then, stop the blender and stir and blend again if it needs more mixing.

2. Pour into cups and you're done! If you would like yours extra thick, then put it in the freezer for as long as you like.

Will you be trying this at home?

  • That's how I usually make my milk shakes, well almost anyway. I find the ice cream in the flavour that I need and just add milk and whizz. Mind you, it has to be full cream milk, none of this semi-skimmed or even worse, skimmed. Sometimes I skip the milk and use Bernachon Mocha Latte instead. Whichever way I choose the only problem I have is limiting my intake! ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜Ž
