Hollywood star Blake Lively joins the party with her own brand of mixers
I bet they go well with Aviation American Gin
Another day, another celeb-owned drink brand but this is a little different, mainly because it’s not booze, it is instead a range of low-calorie mixers that you can combine with your favourite spirit.
The celebrity in question is Hollywood actress Blake Lively (Savages, Green Lantern, Gossip Girl) and the name of the brand is Betty Buzz, available in five different flavors: Tonic Water, Sparking Grapefruit, Meyer Lemon Club Soda, Sparkling Lemon Lime and Ginger beer.
Interestingly, Blake Lively is married to fellow actor Ryan Reynolds, who is also the owner of Aviation American Gin, so the first thing I’d do is try Betty Buzz with gin. Just saying.
All five drinks come in 266ml bottles with 30-70 calories, except for the Meyer Lemon Club Soda, which has zero calories.
“Over the past many years of mixing but not drinking cocktails, it became clear mixers are the unsung heroes of the drink world and deserve just as much love as alcohol,“ said Lively.
She added that the drinks are free from artificial flavours, colours, sweeteners and, crucially, alcohol. “I don’t drink,” she said. “I know that’s odd coming from the wife of an infamous gin slinger.”
The name Betty Buzz is a tribute to Lively’s grandmother, auntie and daughter, because all three are named Betty. The mixers are available in the United States, priced at $29.99 for a variety pack of 12.

And I'm willing to bet it'll be a reasonably priced product, widely available, and marketed less for its Lifestyle Cachet and more to compete with Schweppes.
But dear old ma always said I was a dreamer...
I would have loved G&T if it was Gin and Ginger Beer
There’s a name for gin + ginger beer: it’s called London Mule
I must ask for this
