Homemade vegetable stock powder
Healthy alternative to ready-made bouillon powder
I always loved it to season nearly every dish with bouillon powder. But if you look at all these food additives they put in the bouillon you don't want to have anything of that in your meals. Even if they say they don't use food flavour enhancers you often find yeast extract and way too much salt among the ingredients.
You find a lot of recipes for vegetable stock powder where you have to bake the vegetables for hours. That's too complicated and time-consuming for me and I also shy away from the energy costs. So I looked for an easy to use alternative.
Now I simply buy freeze-dried soup vegetables (here in Germany e. g. Aldi and Lidl have special offers on a regular basis) and chop it with an old electric coffee mill. If you like you can also chop freeze-dried salad herbs and mix them in.
