Hotdog Cooker In My Office?
Doing up two all-beef in style!
I typically bring my lunches to work Monday thru Thursday to help save money and eat a touch healthier than what most fast food restaurants serve. My wife is great in this respect, as she usually packs my lunches for me; she knows if she didn't I'd eat out every day! HAHAHA!
This week for lunches, she has packed up some Nathan's Kosher Style Hotdogs, Hawaiian bread style hotdog buns, diced onion, and mustard. Oh, and my small but trusty hotdog steamer.
All beef for the win!
I bought this thing a couple of years ago for around $12, and it actually surprised me with how well it works. To prep up some hotdogs, all one needs to do is put 1/2 cup of water in the bottom tray, turn it on for a couple of minutes until it simmers, and toss some hotdogs into the steamer drawer. With-in 5 to 7 minutes, you have perfectly steamed dogs! An added bonus is the top compartment for steaming up some buns. Although, I found out pretty early on that you want to throw the buns in towards the end for just a minute or else you get a soggy, sloppy mess!
My office is starting to look like a small catering business between the small 'fridge, coffee maker, and now a hotdog steamer!
Dogs in the drawer for perfect steaming!
Don't leave the buns in for too long our you'll end up with a soggy mess!
I dressed my dogs in what I considered the traditional style; fresh chopped onion and mustard. I don't mind other toppings on a dog, but to me this is the most classic style for a dog. The flavor of the Nathan's dogs is on point! To me, and all beef hotdog is far superior to anything that uses a mix of beef, pork, chicken, and turkey parts!
Now, I wonder what else I can add to my office kitchen to make it more ridiculous? :D
Dressing them out the right way!
This made for a pretty damn good lunch in the office!
