How about a $100k salary to eat tacos for McCormick?
The food company is looking for a 'director of taco relations'
You know how we keep hearing that in the future “there are going to be many new jobs we can’t even imagine”? McCormick, one of the oldest food companies in America, is officially hiring for a new position they refer to as ‘Director of Taco Relations’, joining the long list of companies that have been advertising jobs like Chief Noodle Officer), Chief Biscuit Officer and Slice's Head of Pizza.
All jokes aside, it’s a serious job with a serious pay: $100,000 for a four-month contract. Mind you, applicants are going to have to earn their paychecks by attending virtual meetings and occasionally traveling to both the McCormick headquarters and "other taco locations in the U.S."
As part of the job, you will have to “keep tabs on taco trends” by monitoring social media activities as well as creating content for McCormick's social channels, talking to chefs to see what people want and eat these days and so on.
"Since the 1960s, McCormick Taco Seasoning has been a staple, helping American households," said McCormick’s CMO Jill Pratt. “McCormick's Director of Taco Relations will ultimately honor and support the millions of Americans that rely on our taco seasoning every day while keeping McCormick at the forefront of the tacos of tomorrow."
Applications are open to anyone as long as they are over 21 and U.S. residents and, according to the listing, “a previous taco job is not a prerequisite to submit, just a deep love of tacos [and] excellent storytelling skills, including through video and social media.”
Applicant can start by submitting a creative video “showcasing their personality and passion for tacos” and explaining “why they deserve the chance to be the first ever Director of Taco Relations.”
