How about some chocolate & orange gin for Christmas?

Summertime is over. You blink once and September ends. You blink twice and it’s Christmas again. Food companies know this and that’s why they start unveiling their Christmas range early. This, for example, is York Gin‘s chocolate and orange gin.
It’s exactly what you think it is, an orange- and chocolate-flavoured gin, set to go on sale in the coming weeks (in 70 cl bottles). It actually won Gold at the 2021 New York International Spirits Competition.
‘’We’ve had to alter our distilling technique for this gin. For the orange flavour, we add whole oranges into the mix of botanicals,’’ said York Gin’s Master Distiller Harry Cooke. ‘’We add the cocoa nibs into the alcohol itself in a technique called maceration. This brings out the chocolate flavour much more successfully than putting the nibs in the basket along with the other botanicals.’’
York Gin also suggests two cocktail recipes with York Gin chocolate and orange gin: Chocolate & Orange Espresso Martini, made with Tia Maria (a Jamaican dark liqueur made with coffee beans) and Cointreau; and York Gin Chocolate & Orange Snowball, made with Advocaat Soda and crumbled chocolate.
