I have never had gnocchi before. So FoodTribers, what should I do with it? No pesto because I do not have fresh basil. Only fresh herb on hand is chives. I do have garlic, onion, butter, olive oil, tins of tomatoes and all kinds of dried spices. For meat I do have some ground beef, sausage, chicken and probably a few other options as well. So how should I gnocchi?

Gnocchi is like pasta in the sense that you could probably put it in any sauce and it will be tasty. Personally, Id go for a tomato based sauce or a pesto one.
I don't have fresh basil, so it will probably have to be tomato based or something else.
Just do your doings. Feel like a meat sauce? Make a meat sauce! Feeling like a garlic butter, just do that! Have any curry? You could do a fusion!

Think of it like any base. It takes the flavor you give it.
Like others have said it can go with about any sauce of your choosing. I like to keep mine simple so the flavor of the the delicious pillows usnt hidden! I usually will go with browned butter with peas a little rubbed sage and a sprinkle of parm to finish it off.

No it'll still be good with dried. Cook the gnocchi in water like normal, once out and drained saute in the butter sauce to give it a slight crunchy texture on the outside. Its amazing!
