How to make Tahini: a simple recipe

I get through a lot of tahini as I love hummous, but every time I get a jar it varies so much that now I make my own

If you look through my previous posts you will see my hummous recipe.

Now I wanted to let you know how to make tahini too.

It's very easy and much cheaper than buying it – I calculated it was about a quarter of the price.

Great for using in hummous, baba ganoush or salads

  • 200g sesame seeds
  • Olive oil

  1. Dry roast the sesame seeds in the oven until lightly golden then allow them to cool.
  2. Process until fine in a food grinder, and slowly add olive oil until it is the consistency you want.
  3. Store in an airtight jar in the fridge and use within a month.
