I am trying a new steak and burger seasoning
Any excuse to have a nice ribeye
My wife picked up a bottle of Famous Dave's steak and burger seasoning. I have never heard of this seasoning before so I thought I would give it a day in court. You all know me any excuse to eat steaks and burgers.
I tasted a little bit of the seasoning and it had a little hint of warmth and a lot of salt. Normally I believe steaks should be enjoyed as is with out a lot of seasoning. As a rule I only add a little salt and some cayenne to a steak so I thought this seasoning mix might have some potential. So I sprinkled some on a nice ribeye and fried it in a little butter. As you see I also had a salad for a little balance.
When it was finished I added a little extra seasoning mix to the steak. While eating the ribeye I could definitely taste the salt, which is not a bad thing. So I added a bit more and continued eating. I do believe that Famous Dave's seasoning is nothing more than some salt all other flavor just seemed to disappear. The steak itself was fantastic so at least Famous Dave did not ruin my wonderful ribeye. Now I am not done with this seasoning I will try it on a few more things and see if it does any better. As of right now I am a little disappointed.
Have any of you ever tried Famous Dave's seasoning? Tell me in the comments. I hope your week is going well Foodtribe. I love you all!

Love the headline picture!
Thank you Zahra! 🙂
You're welcome! It looks great!
That steak looks so good damnit.
(Just ahem some fries)
I do agree. But like I said I was balancing things out.
The steak looks amazing, but so does your salad! What was in there? I think it would make a great partner for the steak in lieu of fries (or a half decent vegetarian meal with fries instead of steak)
Thank you my friend! Honestly it was a pre-made bag mix from the store.🤣
Forget the seasoning, that steak looks delicious 😋
Thanks Larry! I am about to stop with these seasonings and just stick to a touch of salt and enjoy the flavor of the meat itself.
👍 That's what I do, salt, pepper and butter and that's it. Quite a bit of salt though. I've got a ribeye coming up to room temperature right now that will soon be in the skillet.
