I had home-made samosas and they were yum

The lockdown appetite keeps on coming

Samosa is one of the most popular street-food and Indian snacks. A samosa is a fried or baked pastry with a savoury filling, such as spiced potatoes, onions, peas and you know what, my parents made it at home.

Due to the current global situation, no sweet shops are open in India and hence we can;t buy any Samosas. But my parents made some world-class samosas at home.

The making

This picture was taken when we were making the filling (masala) of the samosa. Our filling had potatoes, green chilli, ginger, roasted cumin powder and one teaspoon lime juice (and salt, of course).

After filling the samosas with the masala, this is how they look. The only thing left was frying them.

But you know what, having samosas without chutney is like baking a cake without sugar and so we made tamarind (imli) chutney and coriander chutney to compliment the tasty samosas.

The result

And so here is what my lunch had. Delicious Samosas with coriander and tamarind (imli) chutney.
