I tried the ranch cheeseburger
Is it as good as Patrick Jackson claimed?
Fellow FoodTriber Patrick Jackson wrote a article about Masterbuilt grills that featured a recipe for "The only ranch cheeseburger recipe you need in your life" You all know I had to check this out, it was super easy and I already had everything needed to make it happen. So is it as good as they claim? Lets find out!
In the article the burger was a single but mine ended up being a double for a reason I will not bore you with. The recipe called for 480g of minced beef, I just used what I thought was right. I mixed in some Private Selections Texas inspired BBQ rub into the meat and formed the patties. They got tossed onto the grill along with the brioche bun for a quick toasting. Just before the burgers were done I added slices of sharp white cheddar cheese to melt. All that was left was some ranch dressing and ketchup. I must say it is definitely simple to make.
I must admit I am not a big fan of ranch dressing, I prefer blue cheese. So I was a little concerned about ranch and ketchup together. This is not a bad burger at all, the ranch and ketchup worked ok together but the real goodness was with the seasoning in the meat, the sharp white cheddar cheese and the brioche bun. I have to be honest you all it was not bad but while eating it I felt it was lacking something. I think this burger has potential so I am going to remake it my way. Will I be able to make this a better burger? We will have to wait and see you all, so stay tuned.
Have any of you tried this burger? Tell me in the comments below. Stay wonderful FoodTribe and as always, I love you all!

Thanks! 😀
Sounds nice Doug. Have you tried to sous vide a burger yet? I do mine at 54C for an hour or two then super hot sizzle. I'd really like to hear your thoughts on sv burgers one day 😁
No I have not tried that yet! I definitely will try it. What differences do you notice cooking one SV?
I find them juicier as they can be eaten at lower temperatures due to being pasteurised over time. Give them a go and please let us know 😊
It looks good. I don’t like blue cheese so I’d go for the ranch.
I used to love ranch but as I got older I found I didn't like it as much, that is why I was a little hesitant with this.
Certainly looks good!!!
Thanks! I believe there is a lot of potential goodness here.
Blue cheese I know but what is ranch dressing?
