Iceland has released a luxury pigs in blankets mac & cheese

With all these new festive products coming out this year, it really seems that we're fully on board the festive food train! The latest of these weird and wonderful festive food offerings is Iceland's Luxury Pigs in Blanket Mac & Cheese, which does pretty much what it says on the tin; combining two classic meals together in one Christmas-themed package. It's based on Iceland's award-winning Mac & Cheese that's made from macaroni (obviously), Red Leicester cheese, parsely and crunchy breadcrumbs, with the pigs in blankets added in as part of the dish.

If you want this festive-flavoured Mac & Cheese, it'll cost you £2.99 for 400g of the stuff. You can get it both in stores and online, although the last time I checked the online shop it seemed to be completely out of stock. You might have to wait a little bit before you can get your hands on it then!

That's not all the festive-themed items Iceland has for sale either this year, as the beloved UK frozen food chain also has a Luxury Minted Lamb Shepherd's Pie. Made with shredded tender leg of lamb, potatoes, carrots, swede, onion and mint sauce with a bit of parsley, rosemary and ground lovage for extra flavouring, it definitely sounds like a fantastic festive meal for your entire family or if you want to do a big christmas meal without too much hassle.

Is a pigs in blankets mac & cheese a bit too much? Some might say so. There's no denying that some of this year's festive offerings have been a bit crazy. Mac & Cheese and Pigs in Blankets does definitely seem like a very odd combination that nobody would really think of putting together. You never know though, it could be a really great winter warmer, especially this year when things seem bleaker than usual.
