If I were to visit your country, what food or drink must I try?
Would we go to the local restaurant around the corner, or would you cook up a storm in the kitchen?

If I had the chance to come and visit you, what would you cook for me while I was there? Do you make a to die for Bolognese, or is there a little mom and pop's restaurant that makes food just like your Nona? Perhaps fish and chips? The local pizza shop and a nearby park? Sunrise by the water with coffee and appelflappen?
I would probably fire up the grill and toss on some form of meat and some veggies. I would make some homemade mac and cheese and for dessert probably a pie (yes John, with ice cream). Or do I just go for ramen? The rest of the evening would probably be enjoyed outside at the firepit enjoying each other's company.

Breakfast :
Your choice of :
Piping hot simmered tomatoes with fine chopped fresh garden basil, parsley, thyme and rosemary, served on fresh buttered toast . Maybe some poached eggs .
Served with a pot of fresh tea , this being Australia.
Or:
weetbix with milk , topped with your choice of chopped banana, or strawberries .
Or :
Scrambled eggs with coarse green pepper, fine chopped fresh garden parsley , basil , rosemary and thyme , served over buttered toast, with sautéed shallots and mushrooms, steamed broccoli.
Tea , fresh squeezed orange juice , and a glass of Dutch chocolate sustogen in ice cold full cream milk .
Newspapers will be available to read .
Lunch :
Your choice of :
Tomato soup made from canned and fresh tomatoes, with melted cheese , buttered bread , and a pot of tea .
or :
Steamed brown rice,
Steamed broccoli, Brussel sprouts , carrots , snow peas , shallots and sautéed mushrooms served with a steak fillet , and a glass of ice cold milk with sustogen Dutch chocolate.
And a pot of tea .
Dinner , similar to lunch , but served with canned tuna as an optional choice to steak .
Desert :
Low sugar jello with blackberries , strawberries, and banana.
I'm just across the ditch in NZ, sounds worthy of the trip over! You had me at your scrambled eggs, mainly because you serve with steamed broccoli, yum! 😍 Though dessert needs to be regular, full sugar jello and those fruits need some whipped...

Personally, I'd probably fire up my 800° grill and treat you to some nice steaks along woth oven potatoes and parsley roots and leeks from a Dutch oven. Now this is not exactly typical of my country 😊 For typical German dishes I'd suggest Sauerbraten with dumplings and of course Currywurst 😋
