Is this the ultimate Friendsgiving song?
A reality TV star singing about honey glazed ham, what more could you want?
Friendsgiving is just around the corner, and we know what you’re thinking. The one thing this quintessential American holiday is really missing is… a theme tune.
Well never fear, because John Paul Jones has spotted this regrettable gap in the market and has taken it upon himself to create the ultimate Friendsgiving song.
That’s right: Bachelor in Paradise alum John Paul Jones has recorded not one, but *four* Friendsgiving-themed songs for your listening pleasure.
And if that wasn’t enough of a holiday gift, the reality TV star teamed up with a ham company to release the tracks. Yes, a ham company.
The Honey Baked Ham Company released the album "A Very Special Friendsgiving" in partnership with the reality TV star. Happy holidays everyone!
The four-song EP features such aural delights as “All Gravy” and “Thanks for Coming, But It’s My Bedtime”.
In “The Friendsgiving Song”, JPJ sings: “Well, all of my friends / Are here for the right reasons. Some of them are single / Some of them from different seasons.”
In an effort to... explain himself, the 24-year-old told Refinery29: “A lot of other holidays have carols associated with them, but there was no carol for Friendsgiving. So I just thought it'd be a good idea to come up with a carol for the holiday and I was fortunate enough to partner with Honeybaked Ham for the endeavor.”
Not only does the album feature JPJ’s dulcet tones (he raps as well, folks), the songs also include references to Honey Baked’s products, including their classic, well, honey baked ham. They also mention their turkey breast, Loaded Smashed Potatoes and Double Macaroni and Cheese.
If a reality TV heartthrob singing about mashed potatoes isn’t the perfect soundtrack to your Friendsgiving, we don’t know what is.
