It's nearly time to head out for a socially-distanced whisky tour
The Glenlivet, Aberlour, Scapa and Strathisla visitor centres will be opened to the public again by the end of the month
Scotch whisky giant Chivas Brothers will start socially-distanced visitor experiences at its distilleries by the end of July.
In line with the guidelines from the Scottish government, people can safely visit the Glenlivet, Aberlour, and Scapa visitor centres from 29 July, with the Strathisla visitor centre opening from 7 August.
Each visitor centre has been equipped with substantial health and safety measures, which include temperature checks on-site, hand sanitiser stations in each room, multiple social distancing signage and increased cleaning procedures across the site. The distilleries have gone to the extent to provide face masks where necessary, but people are still encouraged to bring their own.
The best part of any distillery visit is of course the tasting, and that will still be going ahead, just with some modifications. The centres will also have smaller groups of people at each tasting.
The Strathisla Distillery tour and The Glenlivet Experience have set their limits to six people maximum per tour and tasting. However, The Aberlour Experience and The Scapa Experience is limited to four and three people respectively.
Chivas Brothers has said the retail outlets at each visitor centre are also open and to book tickets for the experiences online.
