It's the grand reopening of James May's pub, The Royal Oak at Swallowcliffe this evening. We visited for a sneak peek last week. Here's what we had - the food was excellent (and I'm not just saying that because James is my boss and all that...).
-Pastrami salmon, pickled cucumber, horseradish
-Braised featherblade of beef, creamed potatoes, crispy onions, smoked bacon, broccoli, carrot, braising jus
-Chocolate orange affogato
All washed down with plenty of wine, picked by James. The Sancerre was a particular highlight 👌.
Are any lovely FoodTribers planning a visit?

Looks great! I wish I could visit ðŸ˜
Me too.
So let's both enjoy the photos 😂
I would love to visit! But I'm in the US, I hope it will be safe to travel sometime soon 🥺
The dishes look beautiful!
I don't care if I have to row a boat across the pond...I'm going to find myself seated there at some point.
Food looks delicious! Hoping to have a visit when this Covid thing is over and we can travel again.
