Japan is getting chicken karaage-flavoured Pringles – and we're jealous
The new flavour inspired by Japanese fried chicken
Japan is known for some of the most unique - and unusual - flavours when it comes to food, especially confectionary items and snack foods. This news is no different. Pringles has just come out with a special chicken karaage flavour that is exclusive to the Japanese market.
Chicken karaage is a Japanese version of fried chicken, where bite-sized pieces of thigh chicken are coated in potato starch, and then deep-fried in hot oil.
In order to recreate this classic Japanese flavour in their Pringles, the company has used a special fried chicken seasoning that includes onion and garlic powder.
Available in Japan only from the 25th of January for a limited time, the new chicken-karaage Pringles are available for purchase in two sizes: a small 53g tube, and a larger 110g one.
