Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez have teamed up with Tiller & Hatch Supply Co to launch a line of healthy meals at Walmart stores nationwide.

Tiller & Hatch Supply Co was founded by Sean Kane, Jay McGraw and Jennifer Pullen, with an aim to make high-quality, healthy and affordable meals designed for electric pressure cookers.

The initial line features eight restaurant-quality dishes created by Bruce Hecker of Bruce's Catering, known for serving the entertainment industry. All the meals are designed to be tasty, nutritious and affordable, with a portion of the proceeds going to benefit a variety of shelters and charities working to fight hunger.

“This is an option we wish had been available to our families growing up,” says Rodriguez. "We are committed, like Tiller & Hatch, to doing good. This partnership offers us the opportunity to provide affordable and nutritious meals to families across America while making significant charitable contributions to shelters and food-based charities across the country."

The frozen meals include artisanal pastas, hearty stews and flavorful soups, and are centred on simple, wholesome and nutritious recipes that are tasty and affordable.

The meat used is free from hormones or antibiotics, and there are no artificial flavors, colors or MSG added either.

Further down the line, there are plans to bring in organic meals and options for specific dietaries like vegetarian and Paleo.

The meals start at less than $3 per serving, and can feed a family of four for less than $12. Families can choose between the subscription delivery option of four, six, or eight meal bundles, or they can purchase in-store at Walmart.

  • Interesting - I wonder how these will do. Hopefully, it's not just a reiteration of weight-watchers family meals.
