Kellogg's is launching Eggo Chocolate Waffle Cereal to make breakfast cool again
Available from December 2020. Yay!
I think I've come to the realization that nothing ages too well in the 21st century, especially when it comes to food and drinks. We were drinking wine but then all of a sudden we turned to craft beer, and yes craft beer had its moments, and it is obviously still a big deal, but now everyone's obsessed with tequila and gin and hard seltzers. And Prosecco. The list goes on and as it turns out, traditional breakfast isn't that popular anymore.
A few months ago, a survey conducted by OnePoll in partnership with Sabra found that around 25 % of Americans only have breakfast three or four times a week and 13 % skip breakfast altogether. Then we get to the ever-rising popularity of brunch and healthy alternatives, not to mention the fact that a growing number of people feel more comfortable when the day starts out on a salty or spicy note. The bottom line is we used to eat pancakes and cereals and apparently we don't anymore. Not as much as we used to, anyway. In order to fix that Kellog's, one of the biggest names in the industry, is introducing a new Eggo Chocolate Waffle Cereal to make sweet breakfast cool again.
This is basically the chocolate-friendly version of the iconic Eggo Waffle Cereal, which is essentially a waffle-shaped cereal with notes of maple syrup. Kellog's has reportedly been testing samples for a while now and the final product is expected to hit stores in December 2020. In the meantime, if you're looking for alternative ways to satisfy your chocolate cravings, you can always turn to Kellog's Cocoa Puffs Brownie Crunch and Hershey’s Kisses Cereal.
