KFC's Double Down burger is Back
KFC's Double Down burger took the world (or wherever it was sold) by storm. And now... it's back!
Who ever said that the bottom or top end of a burger needed to be a bun? Well, definitely not KFC. When the Double Down burger was introduced, it's all most people could talk about. Whether you love it or hate it, credit to whoever at KFC came up with this idea, because it's borderline ingenious. For those of us that has lived under a rock for the last few years, the Double Down burger was introduced in the US back in April 2010 and then in the UK but only in 2017. It was then removed some time in 2018. Essentially, the 'bun' is replaced with 2 pieces of original recipe chicken. The filling consists of crispy bacon, Monterey Jack cheese and BBQ sauce.
Anyway, as you will have probably guessed, the Double Down burger is back, and we are extremely excited by this. KFC UK & Ireland tweeted 'One like and we'll bring back the Double Down burger' and that practically broke Twitter (for a few seconds).
However, in classic '2020' style, it's not all good news. The Double Down burger is actually available on Uber Eats and only up until 15th November. Quite why it's only available on Uber Eats, who knows.
I, personally, am actually yet to try a Double Down. Last time the Double Down made its cameo appearance in the UK, I was one day too late; sadly, my persuasion skills failed to convince the staff at my local KFC to 'whip one up' for me.

Please have a go Doug! I'd love to see what you can do 🍔
Hmmm I will have to think. 😁
I live too far from a KFC to get one. :-( If they did it on drive through, I'd be game.
