Kwek Kwek or Orange Waffle eggs are boiled quailed eggs coated with an orange batter and deep-fried until the batter is crispy. This is categorized as a street food and are sold along with fish balls, squid balls, and chicken balls. This is usually dipped in spiced vinegar and a special sweet (or sometimes sweet and spicy sauce depends on your choice)

Street Foods in the Philippines usually have sticks and called "tusok tusok" or "to poke" Kwek-kwek has another alike version called Tokneneng“.  The latter are boiled duck egg cooked the same way.

    • the batter is not sweet. It's somehow similar to tempura batter. it's a little bit bland without a sauce so you must try to make it too 😄
