Let us celebrate coffee day together!
Lovers of caffeine rejoice! October 1st is international coffee day!
For more than 600 years, humans have enjoyed coffee and its benefits. Coffee has evolved a lot, from a bean discovered by goat herders in Ethiopia around 700 AD to the cup of joe you know today.
Today, coffee is produced in over 70 countries. The majority of coffee comes from Brazil, Vietnam, Colombia, and Indonesia. It is the world's 2nd most traded commodity.
There is a coffee for every taste, which makes this beverage loved by so many people. So whether you like it dark, iced or as a latte, enjoy a cup of coffee today and think about its rich history and about how far it had to travel to get to you.
International coffee day was established in 2015. Its goal is to plan for the next generation of coffee entrepreneurs. With global warming and the pandemic, it's been hard for a lot of buisnesses that revolve around coffee cultivation and production, as well as for coffee shops that have had to close or have had less traffic than usual.
If you are looking to support some local coffee houses in the US, check out Trade coffee; a subscription box of coffee catered to your taste.
If you want to celebrate international coffee day at home, check out this cute and fun card game called "Caffeine Hit".
In this game, you get points for having the most caffeine in your deck and you lose points for decaf beverages like fruit tea. The game is quick and since it only consists of a deck of cards, you can bring it anywhere you want; like at your favourite coffee shop, to play with a mate.
Get it on Amazon US or Amazon UK.
Happy international coffee day everyone!
