Lidl is selling frozen churros – but you'll have to be quick if you want them

They know what we want and we're grabbing it fast...

You can't not love churros – they are sweet and crispy and warm and delicious. If you've never had them before, they are similar to doughnuts, but long and thin so the crispy outer shell far outweighs the soft middle. If you have had them before, then no doubt you can hear the crunch and taste the sugar right now.

Lidl knows we want them – and our wish is their command.

You know you want them...

You know you want them...

Lidl's in-house range of Spanish food has proved to be extremely popular, with patatas bravas, jamón serrano and gordal olives all flying off the shelves. But so far, nothing has been more popular that its churros – which many missed out on the first time round.

After a lengthy hiatus, they are back – and for £1.19 you can get your hands on the easiest crispy dessert (or breakfast, or lunch) you've ever had. No faffing about with choux pastry and gaining third degree burns from the fryer; 15 minutes in the oven and these are good to go.

When you next find yourself in Lidl, you also might want to pick up some pastéis de nata – light egg custard in a flaky puff pastry crust – which are another of the supermarket's new Iberian-inspired snacks.
