Loads of new chocolate bars are hitting the scene
Completely new products and reinventions of classics are all set to hit shelves soon.
We all need a great many things in our lives. Peace. Love. More shows on Netflix. However, what can sometimes be overlooked is our reliance on chocolate. For this aspect of our daily routine there has been an arrival of a highly rare commodity: good news.
With the vast confectionery festivals of Halloween and Christmas fast approaching, by sheer coincidence a wave of brand new chocolate creations has flooded shops across the country. It’s time to fill up before the dreaded and unrealistic New Year resolutions arrive.
First up is Toblerone, which now has an orange flavour to accompany its mountains of nuts. The full taste boasts pieces of orange candy (with an additional hit of ginger) along with the typical Swiss milk chocolate and honey and almond nougat. Perhaps this makes up for the tragic mistake that was made some years ago when the beloved bar was absolutely obliterated by having its number of triangles slashed. I was surprised that no murder convictions were dished out after that carnage.
Terry’s, meanwhile, has gone mad. Having relied for an eternity on its milk chocolate orange (it’s so old that it’s even raved about in the Old Testament), it has now launched two exclusive choccies. In an announcement that will come as a shock to literally no one, one of the newbies is a white chocolate version of the noble chocolate orange. Billed as being limited edition, the idea is that you will head out and buy as many as possible to make loads of profit for Terry and his chums.
The other addition to the Terry’s range is a conversion of the chocolate orange into a bar packed with biscuit (which should nicely break up the chunky chocolate and serve as a handy snacking alternative). The biscuit range is being flogged for a yummy £1, while the white chocolate orange can be found for £2. Those stockings sure are going to be full this year.
Finally, Nestle has stormed into the party with its offering of mint KitKat Chunkies. Of course, these have been about before, but the favourite flavour has been brought back under the banner of a temporary release. The mint edition joins the re-issue of cookie dough in retailers nationwide.
The great thing about chocolate is that you don’t have to stress over which one to buy first – you just buy them all and devour them in two minutes. There’s nothing quite like savouring enjoyment.

I've been hoping that someone would make a chocolate bar with 11 squares, as a tribute to James Mays observation about tributes to Spaniel Tap.
