Man gave up carbs after realising his body would literally turn them into booze
When you're a superhero but don't even know about it
Adam S. is a 40-year-old man with a rare condition called Auto-brewery syndrome, also known as gut fermentation syndrom or endogenous ethanol fermentation.
He accidentally found out about it after realising he'd often find himself tipsy and aggressive for no apparent reason. A doctor told him why. He's since given up carbs and lives on a diet of meat, eggs and cheese. For a second there I was gonna say he's a superhero with a superpower but the truth is this is actually inconvenient, it's a serious syndrome with serious consequences, and it also basically forced him to give up carbs and alcohol completely.
He says he's quite happy now, and he's feeling better after his new diet (coupled with some antibiotics).

I’d be inclined to make a really strong pot of tea .

so strong it's called gin?
I have read about this before. This seems like a blessing and a curse.
