Man has been taking two geese to his local pub in Leeds

I once had a very lengthy discussion, believe it or not it actually happened in Leeds, with a friend of mine. The discussion began when I asked "If the plural for goose is geese, then why isn’t the plural for moose meese?". Unfortunately I never got an answer but when I learnt that a 34-year-old Leeds resident went to the pub with two geese, it all sort of made sense. Because this is 2020, after all.
Sven Kirby, an admin assistant, bought two geese for £40 each in June to cheer himself up as the country was grappling with the ongoing pandemic. “I know a goose is a strange pet but it’s something different that I have wanted for a while,” he told the North-West Evening Mail. He said he got geese and not a dog because he didn't think it would be fair since he works full time and "geese require much less attention".
The geese, named Norbert and Beep Beep, come from a breeder in Grantham, Lincolnshire and Mr Kirby has apparently been taking Norbert and Beep Beep for walks in the park and even to the pub.
Kirby first came up with the crazy idea when he saw some geese on a riverbank in York. He said his ex "wasn't too ken on the idea,so when we broke up I decided it was my chance to finally do it".
