McDonald’s has made a Quarter Pounder candle

Because why wouldn’t you want your home to smell like pickles and beef?

Ever come home one day and feel like something was missing? Something like the very specific scent of a McDonald’s Quarter Pounder?

Well, you’ll never have to feel that emptiness again. Because McDonald’s has come out with a product that absolutely no one wants or needs.

The six-pack of scented candles smells like each of the classic Quarter Pounder ingredients: bun, ketchup, pickles, cheese, onion and beef. Why bother with the sweet scent of lavender or vanilla wafting through your lounge when you can have… “bun”?

The candles were inexplicably created and released to celebrate the burger’s almost 50-year run.

The restaurant’s merch store, Golden Arches Unlimited suggests “burning them together for maximum deliciousness”. We’re not convinced.

Eater helpfully reviewed the scents. Of the bun aroma, it instructively concluded: “You’d think this would smell like fresh-baked bread, but you’re wrong. It smells like beige incarnate, like a band-aid on the hand of someone pounding on a counter demanding to see a manager.”

The ketchup “smells of suffocating on vinegar and corn syrup”, while the beef candle (there’s two words I never thought I’d type together) offers provides “notes of factory farm and decades-old grease”.

The line of merch also includes Couples Quarter Pounder Mittens (barf), a 2020 Quarter Pounder Calendar (why), and a Quarter Pounder Fan Club T-Shirt (please no). Like ok, it’s quite impressive that this burger is 50 years old but this feels like it’s getting out of hand.

  • Can you just imagine the disappointment of someone visiting your home, thinking that you had bought them McDonald’s for dinner and you show them your new candles! 🤦‍♀️

When someone came in the house, the parrot would make that sound and they'd think "Ah, great; someone made coffee!". Same disappointment, I...
