McDonald's is unleashing a Double Big Mac with four beef patties

If you find the idea of four patties a little scary, there's also an all-new Little Mac

Let’s get real for a sec: the Big Mac is hard to beat. There’s nothing quite like the iconic burger, which is more than 50 years old, for satisfying your cravings.

But McDonald’s is trying to do one better on the classic burger with some a… pretty big announcement this week.

The burger chain has unveiled a Double Big Mac. We’ll say it again for everyone in the back: Double. Big. Mac. That’s a whopping total of *four* beef patties for you math nerds.

For those with slightly more modest appetites, they’re also launching a Little Mac.

So here’s a round-up of what’s on offer starting March 11:

"Big Mac — The unrivaled flavor combination you know and love — two 100% pure beef patties, Special Sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles and onions on a sesame seed bun.

Little Mac — One 100% pure beef patty with just the right amount of Special Sauce and toppings. For those days when you only need a lil’ bit of Big Mac love in your life.

Double Big Mac — Four 100% pure beef patties with all the Special Sauce and toppings you know and love. Yep. You read that right. "

“The Big Mac is more than a burger — over the past 50 years it has become an international icon and a consistent favorite for our fans,” said Linda VanGosen, Vice President of Menu Innovation. “From the perfect amount of our legendary Special Sauce, to the crunch of our crisp lettuce and the juiciness of our 100% pure beef patties, customers know and love the unmistakable flavor of the Big Mac. We’re excited to give them new ways to enjoy the burger they love and satisfy fan cravings of all sizes with three delicious Big Mac options.”

  • I’ll probably stick to my order of 1 Big Mac with extra Big Mac sauce plus a caramel sundae to dip my fries.

  • I'll stick to the regular Big Mac. It's a sinfully good treat, but my fat self doesn't need anymore Big Mac added to my Big Mac. But I'm not ready to do a "Little Mac" either!
