Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher have launched a quarantine wine
100% of the proceeds will go to COVID-19 relief
If you need to upgrade your quarantini to a nice glass of red, oh boy have we got the star-studded bottle for you. Actor Mila Kunis and her husband Ashton Kutcher have announced that they’ve released a special bottle of wine.
The imaginatively named Quarantine Wine is the result of the celebrity couple’s partnership with winery Nocking Point. One hundred per cent of the sales from each bottle will be donated to COVID-19 relief efforts.
Nocking Point, which is based in Walla Walla, Washington, shared a video in which the Hollywood stars explained the idea behind the new wine.
Kutcher said, "We partnered with our friends at Nocking Point who make a bunch of different wines that we really like, and Mila came up with the design, and the label. On the bottle, it's an interactive label. It says 'Toasting To' and you can write whoever you want to toast to, whether it's a friend that you're sharing an evening with, or it's somebody who's doing something great [...] or just a toast to getting through the day. How 'bout that?"
The Quarantine Wine website is now taking pre-orders for shipping beginning in early May. Two bottles will set you back $50, and don’t forget: it’s all for great causes.
The four charities benefiting from the proceeds of the wine are GiveDirectly (gives cash grants to families on SNAP in hard-hit areas), Direct Relief (provides medical equipment to frontline workers), Frontline Responders Fund (delivering PPE to medical facilities) and America’s Food Fund (collaboration between Feeding America and World Central Kitchen).
So what about the wine itself? Well, it’s a 2018 pinot noir from the Willamette Valley, made by lead winemaker Sarah Cabot of Battle Creek Vineyards.
