My first post-lockdown pub lunch was everything I’d hoped it would be

Finally, here in the UK we are allowed to go out to eat at a restaurant or pub, providing we sit outside. Normally this would be a bit of a pain due to the classic British drizzle, but this time I was blessed with a bit of sun, a bit of clouds and only a tiny bit of drizzle.

Anyway, today I went out for my first meal at a pub since Christmas when I went to my local Wetherspoons in York. You see, lockdown has eased slightly now, meaning we can venture out a bit more once again.

The pub I went to today is called the Royal William IV here in Lincoln and it was marvellous. As you can see from the photos, I went for a classic pint of Moretti, burger and chips and some onion rings which I shared with my girlfriend.

Bloody hell it felt good to dig into some pub grub once again. The chips were lovely and crispy on the outside while still maintaining their fluffiness inside and the burger itself was cooked to perfection. Sure, the bun was a little crispy, but I was so blinded by the love of the pint I was slurping through to even care. God, it was like some kind of sweet nectar from heaven, much like how I imagine any drink to taste on Mount Olympus.

It feels so great to post into the ‘Eating Out’ tribe here on FoodTribe once again and I have many trips planned to various pubs and restaurants so keep your eyes peeled for more slightly mouthwatering content. The whole experience gets a solid 9/10. It would have received a 10 if I had had pudding...

    • It’s the same as asking for a pint of Stella. I don’t ask for a ‘Stella Artois’
