Nationwide travesty: McDonald's runs out of milkshakes due to Brexit and COVID-19
What are we going to do? Is the UK going to descend into anarchy?!
Bad news to all McDonald's milkshake lovers as the fast food chain is no longer serving milkshakes in any of its UK stores after a nationwide shortage caused by Brexit and the coronavirus pandemic.
A spokesperson for McDonald’s said: “Like most retailers, we are currently experiencing some supply chain issues, impacting the availability of a small number of products. We apologise for any inconvenience, and thank our customers for their continued patience.”
McDonald's aren't the only ones who have been affected by this either. Nando's has faced a similar issue recently by running out of chicken – the main item on the restaurant's menu.
The issue concerns supply, as well as transport due to a lack of around 90,000 HGV drivers, which affects the UK.
The Mcdonald's spokesperson continued by saying: "We are working hard to return these items to the menu as soon as possible.”
For the time being, it looks like Brexit and the pandemic has taken these milkshakes away from us, but we can only hope they return soon.
