New York strip steak: Just a quick dinner off the grill
Special Sunday night dinners are usually steak!
I love having a special dinner for Sunday nights; and usually it's steak! One of the grocery store chains local to us had New York Strip steak on sale at $9.99 a lb., so why not?! A couple of hours before firing up the grill for our beautiful steaks, I hit them with a blade tenderizer before seasoning them with garlic salt, fresh ground pepper, and Hungarian paprika.
Once it was almost dinner time, I tossed the seasoned steaks on a searing hot grill while I had some asparagus roasting in the oven and mushrooms and onions sautéing simultaneously on the stovetop. All that was left was to plate and serve dinner once it was all done.
I enjoyed my steak with a really nice IPA a friend gave me. Supposedly, only 100 cases of this limited addition beer were shipped into the state of Georgia, and he set aside two for me. It was pretty good, with a nice citrus note, and it went very well with a steak dinner!
What do we have here?
It's a fancy beer...
...served in a fancy glass!
