Now you can easily send food to your friends with Uber Eats
You can send treats to friends and family no matter where they are in the world
Sending food is pretty much the best way you can show support to the people you love right now. But carefully packaging up a cake or loaf and then heading to the post office isn’t the easiest. Uber has just made that a million times easier with the launch of a new sharing feature — and just in time for Mother’s Day (hint hint).
The “Share this Delivery” feature allows you to order anything from the Uber Eats app, and then send a tracker link to the recipient. They don’t even need to have Uber Eats themselves in order to receive food; they can stay in the loop with text updates on where the delivery is.
To use the new feature, you just have to tap the “Share this Delivery” button in the top corner of the app. Then it will give you that all-important tracking link. Put in your loved ones’ address and you’re good to go.
In a statement, Uber said, “Our new socially distant reality has transformed how people connect with those they care about, leaving many looking for ways to feel closer to friends and loved ones. And if there’s one thing we know to be true, food has a way of doing exactly that. That’s why we’re making the process of sharing our love of food easier than ever – with a new global feature in the Uber Eats app that allows customers to easily send treats and share the status of a delivery with a simple tracking link.”
What’s more, you can actually send a delicious order to people no matter where they are in the world, because the feature is available wherever the app is. The statement added, “You can spread the love across state lines ー even oceans ー with the tap of a button.”
Uber Eats is partnering with Starbucks to encourage you to #SendACup to someone special.
