Want a chardonnay endorsed by Drake? Or a sauvignon released by Sarah Jessica Parker? What about organic wines made by Sting?

Well, now you can buy all those glitzy drinks and more, thanks to GrapeStars. It’s a new app which brings together wine and celebrities, which I guess, is what we all need in the middle of a pandemic?

GrapeStars, which had its soft launch this week, is an online marketplace for celebrity-endorsed brands of wine and spirits.

Initially the company will ship to 45 states in the US, The Spoon reports. GrapeStars will launch officially in the middle of May this year with a total of 1,495 products from 203 celebrities.

You can either purchase bottles directly through the GrapeStars app or click on links in the celebrity’s social profiles. You’ll have a choice of celeb-backed booze, sent straight to your door.

Maybe this doesn’t seem like the best time to launch a frivolous concept like stars-meets-booze. But at the same time, it seems a lot of us are enjoying a glass or two to ease social isolation. According to Nielsen data, sales of alcoholic drinks in the US rose 55% in the week ending March 21. Without bars, we’re relying on grocery stores and online delivery.

Celeb booze: are you into it? 🍷🍸🍾

  • I don’t mind celeb endorsed booze. I enjoy several spirits and wines from Clooney to Vanderpump... but why can’t they endorse something interesting, or worth making a trend of. The world doesn’t need another California Chardonnay or IGP Rosé.

    • It’s an overly ambitious dream... imagine an Angelina Jolie Grüner Veltliner. Probably not gonna happen. Although, Christoph Waltz could work!.. I’d love to negotiate a FoodTribe line 😂
