As you all know I used a recipe for dumplings from Ian Yu. Well I had some filling left and the first thought I had was "This would make a great burger." You all know how I am! I have missed making creative burgers for you all.
So I made some homemade Chinese hamburger buns. I must say these buns are really good. I could just sit and eat these buns plain. I will leave a link to the recipe.
You are supposed to cut a bun open and fill it but you know I am not happy with that. So I used two full buns.
I packed my round mold with filling and started frying. I must say it smelled amazing while cooking. I was getting excited you all. While this was cooking I put some soy sauce on my bottom bun and rubbed it in. I then put some sweet chilli sauce on my top bun and then added some sriracha. I slid the patty on to the bottom bun added some shredded cabbage and gently placed on the top bun.
Foodtribe I said this was the best burger I ever screwed up. I say that because as you see my patty did not fit the bun just right. You all know me, my burgers have to be just right. So to me it is a complete fail in the looks department. The good news is this is one of the best tasting burgers I have made since WBT 2020. I Done the happy wiggle with every bite.
It appears I need to get some practice in before I start WBT 2021, you all know its coming back. Even though it was a fail in the looks it was a complete win in the taste. I can highly recommend this one.
What do you all think of my creation? Let me know in the comments. I will also leave a link to Ian's recipe down below in case you want to try this for yourself. Stay wonderful Foodtribe! I love you all!
