Pabst Blue Ribbon made a 1,776-pack of beer to celebrate the 4th of July
That's 645 liters (!!!) of beer
Americans naturally associate the number '1,776' with American independence and in order to properly mark the occasion, PBR (Pabst Blue Ribbon) has released a new 1,776-pack of beer to celebrate Independence Day on July 4th. Outstanding.
The label reads: "This is the Original Past Blue Ribbon 1776 Pack. It can hold 1776 Pabst Blue Ribbon beers and infinite amounts of freedom. You're welcome, America". Let's crunch some numbers, shall we? This 1,776-pack is equal to 74 cases of beer or about 11 kegs or 645 liters. Wow.
PBR's Vice President of Marketing Nick Reely said the "best way to honor the year America claimed its independence was to make a box that held that many beers -- 1,776. It's the least we could do. Actually 1,776 is the most we could do because 1,777 seemed excessive".
Unfortunately, you can’t actually buy the pack directly because it will only be distributed to some of PBR’s sponsors: Igloo Coolers, skateboarding podcast crew The Nine Club, comedian Ali Macofsky, and the Michigan emo band Hot Mulligan.
However, if you're in the mood for some PBR, you can always opt for their 99-pack, which is actually available in grocery stores and breweries. Cheers!
