In Manila, the capital of the Philippines, the waste from restaurants is recovered from landfill and re-cooked. This depressing dish is called 'pagpag', and it's served to those who can't afford fresh meat. For me, it highlights the desperation amongst the poorest people in the world, and the wastefulness of the rest of us.
