Have you ever tried a Mezzo Mix? It was introduced to Germany in the 70s, and still going strong today. It's an interesting mix of orange... and Coca-Cola.

Well, Pepsi's finally decided to get in on the action too. Only 50 years later. All the way back in February, before things got really crazy, Pepsi Orange debuted in Japan. There was quite a buzz about this beverage, as Pepsi has been known to re-invent the Pepsi flavour range with Cherry, Lemon, Cappuccino and many more over the years.

It's always annoying when you can't get your hands on something delicious from another country. But fear not, Pepsi Orange is now available in the US.

Americans can thank entertainment store FYE for making the orange drink available to them. Although the $5.99 price tag seems hefty, it does have to be shipped from another country. You can order a drink from Japan while still in your pyjamas, imagine that.

FYE states, "Pepsi Japan’s newest flavor is a delicious orange! The flavor is based on the Japanese fruit “mikan” which is typically called a Japanese orange. Mixed with the deliciously unique flavor of Pepsi Japan Cola, we get a beautifully balanced beverage that is sweet and citrusy."

The mikan, better known as a Satsuma Mandarin in English, is a seedless fruit that is one of the sweetest members of the citrus family. It was introduced to Japan by China.

So what's the drink like? According to multiple testers, Pepsi Orange is a balanced soft drink which gives off the right amount of sweetness, with a noticeable citrusy orange taste that isn't too overpowering.

  • Japan has the most unusual limited-edition flavors and themes. I hope this does better than the Vanilla flavor.

  • I love orange pop of all varieties (goes great with pizza and wings), so this one's a no-brainer. First Pepsi product I've looked forward to...ever.
