If you know me a little, you know that a roll of puff pastry is never missing in my refrigerator. We can do anything with it.

For example, this is a dessert prepared in an instant and with only 3 ingredients... and one of those ingredients is water.

The Prussiane is a caramelised puff pastry cookie. Delicious, easy and quick to prepare. They are excellent for tea time, for a sweet after dinner or for a children's snack. They can be in the shape of a fan or rolled up, like mine. Let's do it!

Ingredients:

A rectangular puff pastry roll

30 grams of sugar (I used brown sugar, but it depends on preference)

Water

Ingredients for the syrup:

15 grams of sugar

10 grams of water

(Approximately, in reality, I have not weighed anything)

Preparation:

On your work surface, sprinkle some sugar the same shape as the puff pastry roll.

Place the rolled out pastry on top.

With a food brush, brush a little water on the surface of the pastry and then sprinkle the sugar evenly over it.

Roll the two ends tightly until they join in the centre. Place the roll in the refrigerator to harden for 10 to 30 minutes.

Meanwhile, dissolve the sugar in the water in a glass.

Turn on the oven at 200°C.

With a sharp knife, cut slices of about 1 centimetre, and re-shape them if they are crushed or unrolled.

Place the Prussiane on a baking sheet covered with parchment paper, and with a food brush, sprinkle the entire surface with the water and sugar previously dissolved.

Bake (on the central shelf) in a preheated oven at 200°C for about 15 minutes. Remove from the oven, turn them over and with the help of a spatula press lightly (so the sugar will caramelise, and the Prussians will take on an amber colour).

Then bake again on the lowest shelf of the oven for another 5 minutes or until cooked. Be careful because, at this point, you risk burning them. Cooling down, they harden and become perfect.

You can make these in different ways and with different ingredients. Maybe I'll publish some over the coming days.

How hard it can be?!
