Quarantine Meat sauce recipe

I hope I done this close enough that our Italian friends won't hurt me too bad. Since I just titled it meat sauce maybe I would be safe. Regardless I did want to post a recipe of what I done because this was very delicious. This was to help keep some fresh produce I had from going bad as well.

Meat Sauce

  • 1 1/2 lbs. ground beef
  • 1/3 lb. Italian sausage
  • 1 cup carrot, diced
  • 1 cup onion, diced
  • 1 cup celery, diced
  • 1/2 cup mushroom, diced
  • 28 oz. can of San Marzano whole peeled tomatoes
  • 15 oz. can tomato sauce
  • salt to taste


  1. Toss the meats and the diced vegetables in the pan to start cooking. Sprinkle with salt.
  2. I let this cook until the meat and vegetables are cooked and most of the juices have cooked out.
  3. Add the can of San Marzano tomatoes and break up the tomatoes as desired. Add the can of tomato sauce. I cooked this about 15 minutes more. Taste and add salt as needed.

Recipe Notes

All ingredients are approximate amounts. I had all this in the fridge and it needed used up.
