I hope I done this close enough that our Italian friends won't hurt me too bad. Since I just titled it meat sauce maybe I would be safe. Regardless I did want to post a recipe of what I done because this was very delicious. This was to help keep some fresh produce I had from going bad as well.
- 1 1/2 lbs. ground beef
- 1/3 lb. Italian sausage
- 1 cup carrot, diced
- 1 cup onion, diced
- 1 cup celery, diced
- 1/2 cup mushroom, diced
- 28 oz. can of San Marzano whole peeled tomatoes
- 15 oz. can tomato sauce
- salt to taste
- Toss the meats and the diced vegetables in the pan to start cooking. Sprinkle with salt.
- I let this cook until the meat and vegetables are cooked and most of the juices have cooked out.
- Add the can of San Marzano tomatoes and break up the tomatoes as desired. Add the can of tomato sauce. I cooked this about 15 minutes more. Taste and add salt as needed.
All ingredients are approximate amounts. I had all this in the fridge and it needed used up.
