REASONABLY PRICED WHISK(E)Y #2
Introducing spirits below 100€/£/$ - Ireland
Today's choice: Connemara Peated Single Malt - the Scottish Irish.
Connemara offers a peated single malt rather close to its cousins from Scotland - some say that they can't differ from Scotch if blindfolded. The price range is about 18-27€ per bottle.
Volume: 70cl. Strength: 40%. Colour: amber-yellow. Flavour: notes of vanilla, heather and peat. Taste: flossy sweet honey followed by sturdily peat, sweet fruits and vanilla. Finish: smooth and longer lasting with peat and an idea of nuts, malt and (olive?) oil. Maybe a bit weak due to 40% only. Cost/performance ratio: Great. Not high end but definitely recommended for a pleasure in between.
Smooth and worth its money
