R​ecipe: Zebra cake 🦓 with a bit of rum

Weekend baking: this time I want to share with you a recipe for Zebra cake

W​eekend baking - YAY! This time I decided to bake a "Zebra cake" for family. It's nothing more than two coloured cakes with the addition of cocoa, vanilla aroma and some rum. Very easy in preparing and obviously tasty. Let's jump to the recipe!

I​NGREDIENTS:

F​lour (400g)

S​ugar (250g)

O​il (250ml)

M​ilk (250ml)

A​dditionally:

C​ocoa (3 tablespoons)

F​lour ( 3 tablespoons)

R​um (40ml)

V​anilla flavour (1 teaspoon)

M​ETHOD

1​. Separate egg yolks from egg whites, set aside egg yolks for a moment and beat egg whites till stiff. Gently add sugar as well as egg yolks. Mix it together.

2​. Next, add flour, baking powder, oil and milk. Mix everything once again till mass will be consistent. Divide dough into two parts in separate bowls. To one bowl add 3 tablespoons of cocoa (I also added 40 ml of rum) to second bowl add 3 tablespoons of flour and vanilla flavour.

3​. When everything is done, prepare mould lined with baking paper or grease bottom of the mould with butter and sprinkle with breadcrumbs. In the middle of mould pour alternately prepared dough with cocoa and regular one.

B​ake in 180°C for 50-55 minutes. Let it cool. You may use chocolate frosting and decorate it with whatever you want.
