Reese’s beats Snickers’ 'largest nut bar' record

Never have chocolate-covered nuts been so competitive.

Did you read the epic news in January that Snickers had created the world’s largest chocolate nut bar?

Measuring up at over 12 feet long and weighing the precise amount of 4,728 pounds it was an achievement that the adoring fans of Snickers could worship forever.

Their joy was unstoppable for a whole two weeks, before they received an incredibly painful kick in the, er, nuts.

Because Hershey’s and their Reese’s Take 5 bar powered into the increasingly tense competition, crushing Snickers like a bulldozer through a greenhouse.

Officials from the Guinness Book of Records were on scene to witness Reese’s magnificent effort, confirming it as Earth’s “largest chocolate nut bar”.

Clearly a masterful chocolate behemoth, the Reese’s bar creaked the scales by measuring an impressive 5,943 pounds. At 9 feet long, 5.5 feet wide and 2 feet tall even a group of ravenous lions would be overwhelmed by such vastness.

I’ve done the maths and I’ve concluded that it would take me over 300 years of non-stop eating just to get half way through it. On the other hand, I could finish off Snickers’ dismal effort in one mouthful.

Could you finish off Reese’s gigantic chocolate bar without leaving a crumb?

  • Young James, please come to America sometime. You happen to see three tons of chocolate and nuts. I, on the other hand, see a party favor for a moderately sized birthday party for a fourth grader.

  • The Snickers will still taste better. And at the end of the day, that's what matters.
